Serious crash at Dixie and old School Road

Caledon OPP are continuing their investigation into a serious crash last Wednesday at the intersection of Dixie Road and Old School Road.
Police report they were called out, along with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services and EMS to the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a female driver was travelling westbound on Old School Road when she apparently failed to stop for a stop sign and was struck by a northbound vehicle. She was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by fire and EMS crews. The driver was airlifted to a trauma center in Toronto and was listed in stable condition. The occupants of the northbound vehicle were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Dixie and Old School Road remained closed until after 2 a.m. while Technical Traffic Investigators conducted their investigation.
