court play led a Bolton Tennis Club member to the silver medal at the Senior National Tennis Championships in Montreal last week.
Gisela Nouisser, who won the Ontario championship in July in the women’s over-70 singles event, made it all the way to the final of the Canadian event at Mount Royal Tennis Club, where she finished runner-up to Patricia Mclachlan of Vancouver.
On her way to the national final, the unseeded Nouisser beat the No. 3 seed Susan Gilbertson in the quarter-finals and then the No. 1 seed Louise Langston in the semifinals.
Cheering Nouisser on at the nationals were her daughter Yasmine and her granddaughter Alexandra.
All of her friends at Bolton Tennis Club are extremely proud of her accomplishments. Next year she plans to go for gold at the national championships to be held in Ottawa.
