Battle for second remains tight in ball hockey league

Just the second tie of the season was recorded in two evenings of action in the Inglewood Ball Hockey League last week.
Carney Plumbing and Caledon Hills Cycling battled to a 2-2 draw last Thursday. Meanwhile, George’s Arena Sports posted two more wins to add to their already substantial lead in the standings.

Neither team could best the other this night.
Caledon Hills net nabbers were Dave Philips and Matt White, with assists going to Kyle Dalcin, Kurt Snell, Peter Anselmi and Travis Cassar. Carney’s bin bulger was Scott Churly with both, with Bobby Raine, Kelly Regan and Todd Elson getting the helpers.
George’s Arena Sports 6
Ron’s Tire Discounter 0
Point getters for George’s were Matt Scida, Mike Volpe, Justin Fiorini, Chris Mete, Matt Chiarantano, David Ruffalo, Adam Fraccaro, with Donato Dorazio getting the shut-out.

George’s go to guys were Volpe, Metfe, Fiorini, Ruffalo and Scida, with assists from Fiorini, Ruffalo, Volpe, Sunny Gill and Mete.
Caledon Hills Cyclers were Philips and Snell with help from Dalcin and Terry Masters.

Ron’s rolled on from the sticks of Jed Franco and Mark Zilstra (each with a pair), helped out by Tony Sousa, Josh Rowland, Anthony Mellace and Dillon Hesketh.
Carney’s goal getters were Sean Tonelli and Ron Churly with help from Scott Churly and Pete Davis.

With the short-benched Carney crew playing on fumes, George’s were able to get the win and keep their streak alive.
George’s go-to guys were Fiorini from Chiarantano, Ruffalo from Chris Della Morra, Nick Franseze from Volpe and Chiarantano, Luigi D’Agostino from Della Morra and Joe Christiano, and Scida from Fiorini.
Carney was out on the board from Jeff Rumbolt with the pair and Shawn Lane and Shane Hisey adding helpers.

Ron’s Tire Discounters 3
Caledon Hills took and early lead and didn’t look back to firm up second spot in the league.
Caledon Hills net nabbers were Masters and Cassar with two each and Peter Anselmi with the single. Assists were from the sticks of Masters, Albert Bettridge, Phil Anselmi and Ian Dunn.
Ron’s rubber rounder’s were Sousa, Josh D’Eri and Rowland with help from Hisey, Danny Dalkanis and Franco.
The previous week saw two nights of action, meaning two more chances for George’s to stretch their lead.
