Hydro One doesn’t spend ‘play money’

June 18, 2015   ·   0 Comments

We all watch and read about all the serious issues with Hydro One and all its customers, us!
And listening to Andre Marin (Ontario’s Ombudsman) and his investigation makes me think this is just the tip of the iceberg.
So Premier Kathleen Wynne wants to cash in while it still looks lucrative. Really? Wynne, how about you step in and fix things? Or would that be too progressive an idea?
And then we all watch Carmine Marcello (Hydro One’s president and CEO) explain what went wrong and how very sorry he is about what went wrong. Well I will bet one month’s Hydro bill that not only will his annual pay still be very big, I also bet there is a big fat bonus attached to it. Bonuses are supposed to be when there are no complaints from customers and you actually realized more money than anticipated. Like the early ‘80s Trivial Pursuit local guys, who did give big bonuses to all their shareholders because everything was working very well. Not the case here.
The people at Hydro One must think they are at a resort playing Monopoly with play money, and we all know they all have a Get out of Jail Free card
Brian Perras,
Caledon
