Sports DQ Athletes of the Week — June 11, 2015

Mayfield Secondary School Riley Webster This Grade 11 student has been showing lots of leadership as part of the school’s track and field squad, specializing in the triple jump. His best jump this year was 12.68 metres. He won the three meets leading up to ROPSSAA and went to OFSAA last year. He also competes in the long jump and 100 metres. Away from school, he’s an AA left fielder in the Brampton Royals Baseball organization. The 16-year-old lives in Brampton with his parents Joan and Greg Webster.

Hall Catholic Secondary School Emily Gaudet This 15-year-old has been making her mark playing defence on the junior girls’ soccer team, which compiled a 5-3 record to get to the semifinals of ROPSSAA. She also played power on the varsity girls’ volleyball team. In the community, she plays house league in the Caledon Soccer Club organization. The Grade 10 student lives in Orangeville with her parents Troy Gaudet and Krista Novisedlak.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Anthony Felice The Grade 10 student, along with his partner Christopher Schweighofer, made it to the doubles badminton championships at ROPSSAA. Away from the badminton court and school, he is a pitcher and short stop in select baseball in the Vaughan Vikings’ organization. The 15-year-old lives in Palgrave with his parents Giulio and Angie Felice.

In the community, he plays rep soccer in King City. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with his parents Silvia and Peter Sohl.
