Couple charged with trafficking drugs

A 27-year-old Caledon man and 30-year-old woman from Toronto face charges after a Caledon OPP investigation of people known to be involved in the drug trafficking trade.
Police report officers from the Street Crime Unit and the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit started the investigation April 22.
Shortly after 5 pm, a vehicle stop was conducted by involved officers which resulted in the arrest of the man and woman. Both were found to be in possession of drugs, believed to be cocaine and crack cocaine, with a street value exceeding $12,000. Officers also found a quantity of cash in the vehicle.
The man was charged with trafficking in a schedule I substance, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order. The woman was charged with trafficking in a schedule I substance and possession of property obtained by crime.
