Woman charged with drinking and driving offences

The movements of a car exiting a Highway 10 driveway Nov. 1 caught the eye of a Caledon OPP officer.
The result is a 64-year-old Caledon woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system.
Police report the officer was heading north on Highway 10 at about 11:45 a.m. and saw a grey Toyota Corolla exit the driveway, cross four lanes of traffic, hit a curb, causing a hubcap to fall off and roll down the road. The car continued north, travelling at an estimated 100 km-h in a posted 60 zone.
The officer pulled the car over to check on the driver’s sobriety.
Upon speaking with the female driver, the officer immediately detected a strong smell of alcohol on her breath and noted that she displayed many other signs of impairment by alcohol.
The woman was arrested and charged. He licence was suspended on the spot, and her car was impounded for seven days.
